Why use SOLAR SD
I’ve worked in sustainability for over 20 years, and the solar industry for over a decade. I cofounded CollectiveSun, the first solar financing company that exclusively helped nonprofits nationwide. Headquartered in San Diego, I’m proud to report they’ve helped over 200 nonprofits nationwide get solar.
Because I’m passionate about adding solar to as many roofs as possible, I accepted a Senior Sales position with one of San Diego’s largest installers. It took me a year to realize most installers aren’t as passionate as I am about adding solar to as many buildings as possible. Most only care about working on deals with the highest profit margins possible which is in sharp contrast to what clients want, which is the shortest ROI possible. Because there is a lack of quality installers, most “large” installers cherry pick only projects whom are willing to pay these high profit margins forcing others to seek help elsewhere.
The good news is you’ve found SOLAR SD and we’re different!
Our promises are straightforward and humble
We will include in our bid, and only install, the top-quality products (Tier 1)
- Yes, there are many less expensive products and yes, the products listed in our bids cost a bit more but keep in mind, the equipment is outside, 24/7, in the heat/cold/rain/etc.…this is one of those times when you truly get what you pay for.
- Not only do I want you to feel confident the system will work as it should, for as long as it should, but because we built using quality products, but I too get to enjoy this confidence, this piece of mind.
We offer fair prices
- Because we’re not a massive installer, with massive overhead, we pass those savings on to our customers, which means greater value at a lower cost.
- There is a term you need to learn, if you don’t know it already, it’s called change orders or up charging. I’ve heard way too many times how some installers offer a really low price, to win the job, but once the contract is signed, and once the job starts the installer will say things like… this or that needs to be done differently than we originally thought, we encountered this or that problem and it’s going to cost extra. More often than not, these inexpensive bids end up costing significantly more than the original bid price. We do our best to make sure our bids are thorough the first time so there are no change orders.
- Even the fact I’m sharing the unethical practice of up charging with you, should offer you some comfort. I know the games others play but we do not. Again, we treat our customers how we like to be treated – honest and fair.
We’re different
our approach is different, because we look at each job as if we were the client.
