Todd Bluechel

The Solar Guy

My mission is simple

  • I will make you money from making your building(s) environmentally friendly
    • If you own a commercial building, there are two ways to make money:
      • If you’re the owner/sole tenant, solar will reduce your monthly operating expense
      • If you’re the owner and you have tenants, solar can create a new revenue stream
        • e.: Apartment Buildings / Shopping Malls / Multi-Tenant Office Buildings
      • I only install top quality (Tier 1) products
      • I offer excellent prices
      • I treat clients how I like to be treated.
      • If you don’t have solar, you’re literally throwing money away every month.

Three Simple Steps

01

Consultation

First, we’ll discuss your situation, requirements and expectations. We’ll discuss your energy usage/bill. Using satellite images, we’ll look at your roof space, surrounding land and evaluate your solar potential. We’ll discuss cost vs how much you’ll can save/make every month. Q&A.

02

Planning

After we receive your utility data, our engineers will design a system layout based on your needs and available roof/ground space. We’ll email you our free proposal and set up a call to discuss. Q&A. Contract gets signed.

03

Installation

After the contract is signed, we’ll lock in a start date that works best for your schedule. Materials will be delivered, construction will begin. When the job is done, we leave the area cleaner than when we started.

Solar Makes Money

  • Cost Savings:

    • Reduced Energy Bills: Solar panels generate electricity from sunlight, which can offset a significant portion of a commercial building's energy consumption. This leads to lower electricity bills.
    • Tax Incentives and Rebates: There are several state and federal tax incentives, rebates, and other financial incentives for businesses. These incentives can help offset the initial costs, making solar more affordable.

  • Environmental Sustainability

    • Reduced Carbon Footprint: Solar power is a clean and renewable energy source that produces electricity without emitting greenhouse gases or other harmful pollutants. By utilizing solar energy, commercial buildings can significantly reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
    • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility can enhance a company's reputation and appeal to environmentally conscious customers, partners, and investors.

  • Energy Independence and Reliability

    • Grid Independence: Solar panels can provide a degree of energy independence by generating electricity on-site. This can be particularly beneficial during power outages or grid disruptions, ensuring business continuity and reducing downtime especially when an energy storage option is included.
    • Energy Reliability: By harnessing solar energy, businesses can stabilize their energy costs and reduce their reliance on fluctuating fossil fuel prices.

  • Long-Term Investment

    • Return on Investment (ROI): While the initial investment in solar panels can be significant, solar typically offers a strong ROI over the system's lifespan, which can be 25 years or more. As energy prices continue to rise, the savings generated by solar panels can become increasingly substantial.
    • Increased Property Value: Solar installations can enhance the value of a commercial property, making it more attractive to potential buyers or tenants. Solar panels are seen as a valuable asset that can provide ongoing financial benefits.

SOLAR SCAMS

Because your everyday person doesn’t understand all the particulars of solar, there are unfortunately people/companies who take advantage of this lack of understanding. Solar SD was created to not only help businesses get solar but having grown up in San Diego, we pledge to never do any of the bad business practices we’ve heard others do. The simple fact I’m sharing scams to be aware of below should offer you some comfort knowing we’re here to help.

  1. Cost per KW – compare prior to taxes, tax credits, incentives, system components, etc.
  2. Financing gymnastics – lots of options that sound good but cash is still king
  3. Return on Investment (ROI) – the math should be clearly explained
  4. Tier 1 solar panels – highest quality, accept nothing less
  5. Inverter warranty extension for 25 years – should be included in price
  6. Energy Storage Systems (ESS) – a great option but only if the utility data justifies it
  7. Site visit – must be done before any proposal can be finalized/signed
  8. Contract must list all work included and not included
  9. Operations and Maintenance (O&M) – small print might have you paying too much
  10. Roof warranty – should be included
  11. Properly sized system – not too big, not too small, keeping future needs in mind
  12. Licensed contractor – a must
  13. References – validate
  14. Large company hype – most simply do not care about anything other than their profit margin
  15. High pressure sales – solar is most often a slow sales cycle. Solar SD will work as fast or as slow as our clients want, we’re here to help, we’re not going anywhere…
